Summer School in Manuscript Studies 2006

Fees: 

Course fees cover the provision of documentary material (with the exception of * ), plus tea, coffee and sandwich lunches.

Daily Rates:

For individual courses. There is no reduced or concessionary rate available for individual daily bookings.

£40 for half day courses
£60 for two successive half day courses on the same day
£60 for full day courses, with the exception of:
*£65 for Manuscript and Border Painting ( includes an additional £5 to cover the cost of materials ).

Weekly Rate:

£250 for those wishing to make a block booking for the entire week. Students may choose any combination of classes as available.

Reduced Weekly Rate:

£125 for UK-registered MPhil/PhD students only. Students may choose any combination of classes as available. NB: E vidence of MPhil/PhD registration at a UK university must be provided. This reduced rate has been made possible through the AHRC National Research Training Scheme in English Language and Literature, Palaeography and the History of the Book.

Bursaries:

Students wishing to attend the Summer School are very strongly advised to approach their home institution or place of work for financial support where necessary. We are able to offer very limited bursaries in cases of extreme financial hardship. Students applying for these bursaries will be required to submit evidence of failure to secure financial support elsewhere. Applications for bursaries must be received by Friday 12 May 2006.

Classes will take place in seminar rooms located in Senate House, Malet Street, London, WC1E 7HU. Click here for a map.

Accommodation:

The School of Advanced Study does not have its own halls of residence.  Summer School participants will need to make their own arrangements for accommodation where necessary.  Please have a look at the various suggestions on our accommodation page.  It may be possible to to find a room in one of the University of London's intercollegiate halls of residence.  In all cases you will need to arrange accommodation directly.
