Ms Patricia Lovett (CLAS)
Writing Gothic Script
Full day - from 10.00am
Venue: Room NG15, Ground Floor, Senate House North block
This is a practical session where the delight of writing probably one of the most frequently used writing styles in manuscripts will be explored. As in a mediæval scriptorium we shall be using sloping boards, dip pens and ink, but will also have explanatory hand-outs with guidelines and exemplar letters which will make the experience very much easier. Towards the end of the day each participant can cut their own quill for practising when they get home (perhaps). (There will be a charge for the quills of £1 per person)
