John Coffin Memorial Annual Palaeography Lecture; title to be confirmed.

Professor Gillespie edited the Syon Abbey Library Catalogue for the British Academy/British Library corpus of medieval library catalogues, and his research on 15th-century devotional texts involves work on Bridgettine and Carthusian MSS. Both orders were instrumental in the transmission and dissemination of devotional works to the laity, with important implications for the development of lay literacy and late-medieval spirituality.
