Postgraduate Feminist Reading Group 2011-2012
This informal postgraduate reading group offers the opportunity to read and discuss feminist writing. It is open to any interested postgraduate from any discipline or institution. The discussion is based around the reading of theoretical material often alongside literary or cultural texts. Participants are welcome to attend regularly or occasionally. We are a friendly and welcoming group, always looking for new input.
This term (Spring 2012) the group will take as its theme: "Feminism Gets Medieval" The term will be dedicated to all things Medieval - making connections and disconnections across time, asking questions about the benefits/drawbacks of considering Medieval texts and figures through our contemporary feminist and queer frameworks, and generally engaging with a time period that is probably unfamiliar to a lot of us.
For any queries, please contact Sam McBean (Birkbeck) at pgfeministreadinggroup@gmail.com
All meetings this term will be held on the first TUESDAY of the month, 6-7.30pm; Senate House, Malet Street, London, WC1E 7HU.
