1873: a Retrospective

Join us for our annual forum on Victorian society and culture one hundred and fifty years ago. Four speakers will present artefacts, institutions and events from 1873 in a discussion chaired by Dr Matthew Ingleby (QMUL). Timely topics this year include the formation of the Wagner Society, the flotation of the Rio Tinto Mining Company, and Karl Marx's 'invigorating' visit to Harrogate spa.

Speakers: Beth Palmer (Surrey), Astrid Kohler (QMUL), Alex Bubb (Roehampton), Tiziana Morosetti (Goldsmith's)

Please email alexander.bubb@roehampton.ac.uk if you would like to join us for dinner afterwards.
Unless stated otherwise, all our events are free of charge and anyone interested in the topic is welcome to attend. Registration is required for all events.
