The London Rare Book School (LRBS) at the Institute of English Studies, University of London runs a series of intensive courses on a variety of book-related subjects taught in and around Senate House and online.

Bookings will close on 23rd May 2025.
The University accepts Visa/Mastercard/Maestro/Solo (UK only)/Visa Debit. No other credit cards (e.g. American Express) can be accepted. If you have an issue with payment, please contact IES Events office (iesevents@sas.ac.uk).
- Bookings cannot be made for individual days of the courses. Attendance is for the full week.
- The fee does not include accommodation.
Bursaries
We are pleased to offer a number of bursaries for attendance at the IES London Rare Books Summer School.
We are grateful for the support of Antiquarian Booksellers Association, the Bibliographical Society, Dr Williams's Library and Maggs Bros, all of whom have kindly provided funds for these bursaries.
- Bursaries offered range from full fees to a fee reduction.
- Applications will be judged on the basis of financial need, as well as benefit to the applicant. We will use your ‘Statement of Motivation’ and ‘Statement of Need’ to help us make the awards.
- Decisions will be made by senior academic staff in the IES.
- You are usually expected to write a short blog after attending LRBS about your experience.
Applications should be submitted by 4th April 2025, and you will be notified of the outcome in the week commencing 28 April 2025.
