This event is free and will be held online via Zoom.
Registration is now open for this one-day online conference, which contributes to the growing interest in the copy-specific journeyings of pre-modern books as they moved ‘through time, space, and context’ (Emma Smith, 2016). In order to generate discussion about the methodological and theoretical affordances of an individual book object’s ‘life story’, papers will reflect on such issues as book use, ownership, and community making, institutional histories, textual transmission and mutability, as well as the transnational dimensions of pre-modern cultures of the book.
