London International Palaeography School

The London International Palaeography School is a series of intensive courses in Palaeography and Manuscript Studies.

The Summer School runs annually in London, while online courses run throughout the year. In addition to courses on the palaeography of manuscripts from a wide range of regions and time periods, subject areas include illuminated manuscripts, codicology, and manuscript editing.

LIPS runs across two weeks, from 5 June to 16 June 2023 in person at Senate House, London.

Unless otherwise specified, LIPS courses are introductory courses and no specialist prior knowledge is needed, however participants are normally expected to hold an undergraduate degree. For more information, please contact the Director.

The 2023 list of courses is now available and registration is open.
