Anna Girling completed her doctorate on ‘Edith Wharton and Queer History at the Fin de Siècle’ at the University of Edinburgh in 2022. While at the Institute of English Studies she will be working on a project about Edith Wharton’s Cold War publishing history, as well as thinking more broadly about the postwar publication of ‘classic’ American literature. In addition to her interests in decadence, and fin-de-siècle intellectual history in the US, Anna is also interested in internationalist print networks in the interwar period, and is part-way through an Eccles Centre Fellowship at the British Library looking at the journalism of Nancy Cunard.
