Research
Angéline’s research interests focus on the history of the book, the formation of private and institutional libraries, as well as bibliographical studies. Her doctoral thesis explored the antiquarian book-trade in Switzerland in the first half of the nineteenth century through Sir Thomas Phillipps’s purchases there in 1822–23 and their dispersal after his death. She collaborated on the Catalogue des incunables du canton de Fribourg (publ. 2015). In 2014–15, she catalogued the incunabula of Lambeth Palace Library in the database Material Evidence in Incunabula. In 2019–2020, she contributed to the database Bibliographie des mazarinades in the Bibliothèque Mazarine in Paris. In 2021–22, she started to catalogue the incunabula of Sion Cathedral Chapter in Valais (Switzerland).
Her research within CULTIVATE MSS explores the various uses of medieval manuscripts in the German-speaking area in the first half of the twentieth century. She investigates the activities of antiquarian booksellers, in particular Jacques Rosenthal of Munich and Martin Breslauer of Berlin.
