Dr Chiara Pellegrini

Research Fellow

Chiara Pellegrini completed her PhD in English at Newcastle University in 2022. Her research interests are narrative studies, queer and trans theory, and contemporary culture. She has published on queer theory and film adaptation, trans memoirs and novels, queer temporalities in film and television, and the body in intersex narratives. She is co-editor of ‘Trans/forming Narrative Studies’, a special issue of Narrative (2024). Her monograph Trans Narrators: First-Person Form and the Gendered Body in Contemporary Literature is forthcoming with Edinburgh University Press. At the IES, she will be working on a project about metaphors, spatiality, and contemporary trans literature in Britain.
