Dr Fozia Bora

Dr Fozia Bora teaches and writes on premodern Islamic history, specialising in the historiography of the Fatimid and Mamluk eras. She is Associate Professor of Islamic History at the University of Leeds, and Chair of the British Association for Islamic Studies (BRAIS). Her recent book, Writing History in the Medieval Islamic World: The Value of Chronicles as Archives (Bloomsbury, 2019), examines the role of chronicles in archiving knowledge and in preserving past sources for Islamic history across a range of genres.
