Project:
Jane’s PhD is a London Arts and Humanities Partnership (LAHP) funded Collaborative Doctoral Award between the Institute of English Studies and the family history website FindMyPast. In partnership with FindMyPast this project investigates the 1911 and 1921 censuses of England and Wales, analysing language and cultural sources to trace marginalised histories of class, gender, sexuality and mental health. The project uses an interdisciplinary approach between Digital Humanities, English Studies and Cultural history.
Research:
Jane has a BA in Modern History from the University of Bristol and a Masters in Research (MRes) from the Institute of Historical Research, School of Advanced Studies. Her MRes dissertation was titled 'Working-class women, local networks and philanthropy. Charity in the Women's Co-operative Guild in 1890s London’.
